It is incredibly satisfying to see the damage numbers of your favorite troop increase, knowing it will hit the enemy tower slightly harder.

Entering a match with a King Tower that is one level lower than your opponent puts you at a massive, permanent mathematical disadvantage before a single card is even played.

The Mathematics of Survival

However, if your Princess tower is only level 10, it will deal slightly less damage per shot, requiring FOUR shots to kill that same level 11 Goblin.

Conversely, having a higher level tower than your opponent means your towers act as an incredibly potent, passive defense, cleaning up small pushes entirely on their own without requiring you to spend elixir.

• If you are underleveled, you MUST play perfectly.
• Upgrading low-level cards you don't even use is a great way to farm Account XP cheaply.
• If you activate your King early with a Tornado, a higher-level King provides massive defensive DPS for the rest of the game.

Intimidation Factor

This often induces a sense of 'ladder anxiety' in the opponent, causing them to play overly aggressively to try and overcome the mathematical deficit, leading to fatal mistakes.

Furthermore, a higher King level allows you to play much more relaxed and patiently.
