Cellulite is the dimpled-looking skin commonly affecting the thigh region where there is naturally more fatty tissue. Cellulite forms when fatty tissue deep in the skin pushes up against connective tissue. Sclerotherapy is an injectable for small, dilated veins, spider veins and thread veins usually located on legs which is an alternative to laser treatment. This harmless yet unsightly cosmetic condition may leave you self-conscious.
Prior to treatment you will have a consultation to assess the severity of your condition followed by a customized treatment plan.
A small amount of sclerosant is injected into the dilated veins using a very fine needle making them disappear after magnification with magnifying illuminated glass. After injecting the sclerosant the veins are compressed for 21 days and nights by wearing compression stocking until the injected tissue heals and obliterates the vein. Too early removal of compression will result in blood returning into the treated vein, clotting and brown staining which may last for several months or permanently.
Sclerotherapy will result in disappearance of the treated dilated veins and thread veins after months. Plan your treatment in advance to have flawless legs before the Summer months.
Adverse are rare and may include brown discoloration of the skin, ulcers, red stains, or "matting" in case of hidden veins and allergic reactions to the injected sclerosing solution.
